INGREDIENTS

Crumbles:
1 cup all-purpose flour
½ cup dark brown sugar
½ tsp. ground cinnamon
⅛ tsp. nutmeg
⅛ teaspoon salt
6 tbsp. cold Keller’s Creamery Unsalted Butter, cut into small pieces

Pie Filling:
¾ cup boiling water
½ cup molasses
¼ cup light corn syrup
1 large egg
½ teaspoon baking soda
1 9-inch pie crust

STEPS

  • Preheat oven to 375°F.
  • Crumbles: Mix flour, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt together in a bowl. Cut in the butter with a pastry cutter until it forms small clumps; set aside.
  • Pie Filling: Whisk together the water, molasses, corn syrup, egg and baking soda until just blended and pour into pastry shell. Spoon the crumbles evenly over the top – they will mostly sink during baking. Bake 15 minutes, lower the heat to 350°F and bake 20 to 25 minutes longer, or until set. Allow the pie to cool completely before serving.

    Note: Drape pie with aluminum foil if it browns too quickly.
